How do I add a book?
Tap Add book on the shelf and pick any PDF or EPUB from Files. Reco opens books you add yourself, so a fresh install has an empty shelf. You can also share a file to Reco from any other app.
My shelf is empty after I installed an update.
If iCloud is on, books and covers come back by download rather than instantly. Give it a minute with the app open. If the shelf is still empty after that, write to us.
Something went wrong. How do I report it?
Open the appearance menu on the shelf. Under the build number there is a row that says Send N problem reports. It opens the normal share sheet, so you choose where it goes. Nothing is sent unless you send it. iOS hands Reco those reports about once a day, so an empty log on the day of a crash is normal.
How do I get my notes out?
Every book's marks export as Markdown, to Obsidian, to Notion, to Apple Notes, or anywhere the share sheet reaches. There is also a Shortcuts action, so you can build one shortcut that does it on a schedule.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account, no sign-up and no Reco server. Your books live in your own iCloud and your marks live on your devices.
How do I join the TestFlight build?
Write to us with the Apple ID email you use on your iPhone or iPad, and we will send you a TestFlight invitation.
